Sheffield's First People - Native American Cultures and Their Settlements in the Black River Valley

Lorain County is rich in human history that began over 10,000 years ago with Native American occupation along the lakeshore, on the ancient beach ridges and the river and creek valleys. The presentation will chronicle these settlements and discuss the development of these cultures from the seasonal camps of hunter/gatherers to more permanent farming communities. This program will be presented by Charles E. Herdendorf, Professor Emeritus of Geological Sciences, the Ohio State University. Preregistration required.
